let me explain...

I feel like I need to explain something. I’ve had to redirect my goals this year. I’m pretty bummed out about it but I have to make the best of my situation. I planned on doing a painting a day for this whole year. 365 paintings in 365 days. At frst it seemed very doable. I had done 45 paintings in fortyfive days before. I did 17 in seventeen days last fall. It was going smooth until I had some family visit about fifteen days into my project. I got caught up some soon after that to bring the number to nineteen. I went out of town for eight days and got way behind. I then came home and  got another painting done to bring the total to twenty paintings. By this time I was so far behind and had no time to catch up. I then had to leave town again for another five days. I’m still painting but keep starting paintings that can't possibly be finished in one day and still tattoo the average of nine hours that I maintain. Having numerous out of town clients the last few weeks and having to leave town again to work in Japan in six days has me overwhelmingly behind on my project. I was told by nearly everyone I know that it was impossible. Even though I disagree, having done similar projects in the past, I conceed, and I am adjusting my goals. I’ll be working in Japan with the incredible Shige of Yellowblaze Tattoo from March 2nd til the 12th. I still plan on seriously painting this year, but I want to do more complex imagery and bigger paintings then I can do daily. I hope I havent let anyone down enough to lose your respect. I should have thought things through and set goals that fit my work chedule better. To continue just for the numbers would compromise the level of artistic integrity I’m aiming for. I've sold a few of the twenty that did get finished. I have a few left and will post them in the next couple days. I'll keep everyone informed of my Japan trip and will post as much as I can on the road. Thanks for all the support and patience.
